Muladhara takes its name from the root chakra or “root support”—the body's first energy center, our connection to the deep earth, and our foundation of being, safety, and belonging.
This piece emerged during a season of unearthing: old stories, patterns, beliefs, and previous versions of myself asking not to be abandoned, but loved and integrated. As I sat with the color red and asked what wanted to be expressed, I kept returning to one truth: expansion requires safety. Before we can rise into something new, there must be ground beneath us strong enough to hold who we are becoming.
What began as something deeply personal quickly felt collective—universal. I found myself considering the foundations we share—our values, our identities, our paradigms—and what must be tended, healed, or reimagined for us to stand firmly in a more expansive reality.
